YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR – AM I DOING IT OK?

Another week of work is about to be over, and as per usual I start speculating whether I’ve done ok in the past week. I love being an entrepreneur – and having the opportunity to be creative at work as well as implementing everything I’ve learned while studying. I also love the facts that I get to try and live out mine and Frederiks dream. But I would lie if I said it was like a bed of roses.

To be honest with you, I’ve several times gone to bed lying sleepless in frustration as thoughts along “am I doing well enough?” and “could I have done something more, or differently?” keeps reoccurring in my mind. I can feel incredibly shallow, when I lie in bed thinking about my likes or my followers on Instagram. Nevertheless, it’s a thing I must acknowledge as a crucial and important thing in this industry.

To me, using Instagram as a platform to promote myself professionally has been a tough task to overcome. Not so much the part about posting pictures of myself, but more about which to choose, the quantity question, which hashtags to use and whether the overall theme is matches. Instead of taking it one step at a time, I’ve tried dealing with everything simultaneously, which often has constrained me.
After watching an interview with
Candice Nesistat, founder of the popular jewelry companies Lovebilly and Finnjewelry, I realized that changing my mindset to focus on doing my best one day at a time could help making everything more manageable. Also, I just have to face the fact that if you want to become successful, you have to overcome your own fears and thoughts and just do whatever it takes!

By keeping these two guidelines in the back of my mind, it’s easier to keep the aim steady towards my goal, as well as enjoying the journey towards it. I think it’s so great we have so many entrepreneurs in the world whom you can soak up inspiration from.

It’s also a comforting thought knowing that many others have gone through the process I’m currently figuring out myself right now. Use your weekend to find your inner entrepreneur.
